We stayed in a private room and we had a great stay!! We had our own little living area with stairs leading up to the bed area. The air conditioning was amazing!! When we were there it was reaching 40 degrees so it was badly needed! We found the room to be clean. The bathroom with a shower was right beside our room so that was a great convenience.
Had the double room which was great. We had a downstairs part of the room with a sofa and wardrobe and the upstairs had the bed and a chest of drawers. We had so much space! Also with air con which was fantastic. Close to the river and about a twenty minute walk to the centre so perfect location and close to all amenities needed.
You find lots of papers with information about the city in the living room, like free maps and places to visit. This is very helpfull for a traveller. The location is also very nice, very close to the Szabadság Bridge and to Kálvin tér metro station, wich are central locations. There were only two things that annoyed me: the lack of bathrooms (showers and toillettes) and the fact that you had to pay for the lockers. Other than that, it was great and i met great people there.
Nice place with kind and friendly staff and has an excellent location. (close to M3 and M4 metro lines with access to all of the important parts of Budapest.) The rooms were spacious and clean. I would definitely stay here again. Recommended!
Very close to one of the oldest and biggest buildings in the city, especially stylish marketplace. Wow, go there for breakfast or if you're looking for groceries. Helpful stuff, booked the UBER style taxi for us, which let us save plenty of money. Spacious rooms and really high, +4 metres. A cool internal, residential patio. A bit noisy at night, because of the bus lines and taxis, but otherwise comfy beds. Nice common room, a pc station with Fbook, if you're addicted ;) Kitchen is also a +
Liked: I only stayed here one night, but the staff were very helpful in letting me store my luggage for several nights as I was camping at Sziget festival. They also let me use the shower facilities when I came back from the festival.
Disliked: There wasn't much of an atmosphere, though that seemed more due to a lack of travellers in the common area.
I've been here for 5 night with two of my friends. We stayed at the 4-bed mixed room.
The room was clean, it was next to the bathroom.
The hostel is in the centre, but at a quiet part of the city. Everything is reachable in maximum 20 minutes.
The staff is really friendly, they know good places in Budapest, they can advise parties, restaurants, pubs, etc...
I would recommend this hostel to everyone!
The staff was great to talk to and very friendly. showed me around when I first arrived and was super helpful explaining everything. The beds and bathrooms were average for a hostel - clean and tidy. I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely come back
Liked: Been here nearly 5 WEEKS AND COUNTING.Its a lovely, friendly and safe place to stay.Staff are very helpful and location is excellent. It is a small quiet hostel, but if you want to party there are many clubs and pubs not far and you can come back and relax in piece after a night out.Have met many wonderful people here. Every person a new story and it never gets boring. would recommend highly.
Barocco Hostel was an extremely social and fun place to stay. It had a great location, a functional kitchen, and access to all of the important parts of Budapest. There was always a group gathered at night which made it easy to meet lots of people. Overall, one of the most fun hostels I've stayed in with the best value for the money.
